Swimming Lessons are not offered for the 2021 season, due to COVID-19.
2021 CRYSTAL LAKE SANDY BEACH
Due to the Hot Weather and Staff Permitting the Beach will be Open
June 7th-10th 12noon - 5:00pm.
Pre Season Hours are scheduled as 12noon -5:00pm weekends from May 29th - June 13th Staff and Weather Permitting.
The Ellington Recreation Department has been working diligently to ensure a safe aquatic experience and is pleased to announce that the beach will open on weekends only beginning Saturday, May 29 from Noon to 5:00PM and will begin daily use on Thursday, June 17. (weather & staff permitting) Beach hours have been slightly extended and the beach will be open for operation on weekdays from 10:30AM – 5:30PM and on weekends from 10:30AM – 6:00PM beginning June 17.
The Crystal Lake Sandy Beach Facility will be open through August 29. (weather & staff permitting)

Season Pass Rates - Ellington Residents Only:
$65.00 Per Family
$10.00 Senior Citizens (ages 60+)
Walk-In Rates - Ellington Residents Only
$8.00 Adult (ages 18+)
$6.00 Child (ages 5-17) - ages 5 and under free
$1.00 Senior (ages 60+)
In an effort to ensure the safest environment for both our patrons and staff, several modifications will be implemented at all times during waterfront operation. These modifications include but are not limited to:
Ellington Residents Only
Due to social distancing mandates and the associated guidance that waterfronts operate at 50% capacity, this decision has been made to prevent overcrowding.
Beach attendants will have a credit card reader to accept cashless walk-in transactions. Payment by check payable to the Town of Ellington will also be accepted.
Social Distancing is Required
Blankets, towels & chairs should be at least 15’ apart from others, unless immediate family
Groups will be limited to no more than 5 people, unless immediate family.
Face coverings must be carried in and worn when in close proximity to others.
Playground, Picnic and Volleyball Areas are Closed
Health guidance dictates that “high contact” areas be closed until further notice.
“Carry in/Out” Trash Policy Will be in Effect Patrons must take out what they bring in. No receptacles will be available for public use.
Restrooms Will be Open
Restroom capacity will be limited to one individual or family at a time.
Restrooms will be cleaned periodically throughout the day
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Should the parking area or waterfront reach maximum capacity at any point, the beach will be
closed and notification will be posted immediately on the Ellington Recreation Department Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ellingtonparkandrec/. Any closures due to weather or staffing will also be posted.

Please note these requirements reflect our current guidelines, any changes or updates will be posted to our Facebook page. Beach officials have full authority to impose further restrictions to ensure a safe aquatic environment. Law enforcement will be monitoring beach activity and any willful violation of beach rules may result in immediate ejection from the premise, revocation of beach pass rights, and any further action deemed necessary by law enforcement.
