The Parks and Recreation Commission and Recreation staff continue to make a concentrated effort to provide a cross section of quality programming on a year-round basis. An earnest effort has been made to create and offer programs, both on a passive and non-passive basis, for all age groups within the community.

NEWS
Congratulations to our new Director Mary Bartley! Mary has been a recreation department employee since 1992. She was promoted to Director effective June 1, 2026. Mary replaces Dustin Huguenin who is now the director in Clinton, CT.
Throughout her tenure, Mary has served in a variety of roles, including Recreation Coordinator, Recreation Supervisor, Interim Director, Waterfront Director, Assistant Director, and most recently, Interim Director.
Mary holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a Master of Science in Health Education, both from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York.
Her extensive experience, institutional knowledge, and longstanding commitment to the Town make her exceptionally well suited for this leadership role. We look forward to Mary’s continued leadership and the continued growth and success of Ellington’s parks and recreation programs.
