ImPACT Assessment

The Parks and Recreation Department continues to support and reach out to the athletes, parent-guardians and coaches in an attempt to encourage eligible athletes to register and take part in the Town-sponsored ImPACT (Immediate Post-concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) system prior to the child participating in their chosen sport.

Coverage is provided to Parks and Recreation program participants, as well as Ellington football, girls softball and boys baseball.

About the Assessment
The assessment process includes:
  • Computerized concussion evaluation system
  • Test process and eligibility
ImPACT is an invaluable tool in making a safe return-to-play decision, but this only works if the baseline test is taken prior to a child sustaining a concussion.

It is highly recommended that parent-guardians and adult participants consider taking advantage of this worthwhile program for your child.
